Applies to citalopram, celexa, liquid citalopram, quinidine, sildenafil, tricyclic anti-fungal medicationSymbyax Pharmaceuticals Limited’s experience in initiating Celexa in patients with depression or schizophrenia has been to determine the safety and efficacy of Celexa in treating these conditions. In this clinical study, Celexa was initiated at a dose of 20 mg and was well tolerated. Patients on Celexa for at least 3 months had significantly higher rates of a return to a normal weight range in weight loss compared to patients taking a placebo. Patients in the Celexa group experienced significantly greater weight loss in comparison to the placebo group. These findings were consistent with a potential return to a normal weight range at 3 months in comparison to historical data. Further investigation of Celexa in patients with schizophrenia is needed as safety and efficacy studies in patients with these conditions have not been completed.
